Igaz viszont, hogy a sz&eacute;lesebb k&ouml;zv&eacute;lem&eacute;ny m&eacute;giscsak ut&aacute;na kezdte Mik&oacute; Imr&eacute;t m&aacute;ig tart&oacute;an ekk&eacute;nt emlegetni.         Idén, szeptember 4-én volt 200 éve annak, hogy megszületett a tizenkilencedik századi Erdély egyik legjelentősebb alakja, „Erdély Széchenyije", gróf Mikó Imre. Ebből az alkalomból szervezett előadássorozatot szombaton az Erdélyi Múzeum-Egyesület és az Erdélyi Református Egyházkerület Igazgatótanácsa, a kolozsvári Református Kollégium Dísztermében.\n

        Főtisztelendő Pap Géza református püspök áhitata után elsőként Egyed Ákos tartotta meg előadását, Mikó Imre, Erdély Széchenyije és az EME megalapítója címmel. Megtudhattuk, hogy gróf Mikó Imre mint intézménypártoló és alapító valóban közel állt Széchenyi szellemiségéhez. Arra törekedett, hogy Erdély felzárkózzon a fejlettebb nyugati civilizációhoz, de anélkül, hogy elveszítené történelmileg kialakult sajátosságait.\n

        Személyiségének formálódását nagymértékben meghatározta származása, erdélyi gyökerei, ugyanakkor az őseitől kapott gazdag örökség. Ennek a vagyonnak nem kis részét használta fel arra, hogy a szabadságharc után szétzilálódott erdélyi társadalom lábraállását elősegítse. Fiának többek között ezt írta: aki őseitől nagyobb vagyont örökölt, attól a hon kétszerte jobban elvárhatja, mint másoktól a hazának tett áldozatot.\n

        A második előadó, Tonk István az Erdélyi Református Egyházkerület főgondnokaként mutatta be gróf Mikó Imrét. Elmondta, hogy a szüleitől, nagyszüleitől kapott és az iskolai tanulmányok során elmélyített kálvinista szellem nagyban hozzájárult ahhoz a bölcs és szabad lelkiismeretre alapozó magatartáshoz, amelyet Mikó Imre élete során tanúsított. Hite átsegítette őt a különböző nehéz időszakokon: akkor is, amikor a szabadságharc bukását követően visszatért Erdélybe és akkor is, amikor egyetlen fiát, Ádámot elvesztette. Az egyház intézményeit mindenkor támogatta, mind a kolozsvári Református Kollégium, mind a sepsiszentgyörgyi Székely Mikó kollégium sokat köszönhet neki.\n

        Végül Pomogáts Béla Mikó Imre irodalomtörténeti érdemeit mutatta be. Főleg az „elveszett kincsek", az ismeretlenség homályában maradt írók felfedezésében, írásaiknak letisztázásában, sajtó alá rendezésében szerzett magának érdemeket. Bod Péter és Benkő József életrajzának megírásával is hozzájárult az irodalom „fehér foltjainak" eltüntetéséhez, annak a gondolatnak a szellemében, amelyet ő maga így fogalmazott meg az Irányeszmékben: a nyelv éltetője az irodalom, amelyet ápolni kell.
